This Type Drop was a little scoop from the studio.
Gelato Daydreams is a playful hand-drawn display font inspired by gelato shop signage, vintage dessert menus, pastel packaging, postcards from vacation, and sweet little storefronts.
I wanted this one to feel sunny, nostalgic, and full of charm. The kind of font that makes you think of soft retro branding, Italian summer colors, café menus, hand-painted signs, and the little type details you would save from a tiny shop window while wandering around on vacation.
It is playful and handmade, but still polished enough to use in real design projects.
This Type Drop originally included the Gelato Daydreams demo font for personal use. It was available as a 24 hour free drop and is now archived inside The Vault on Patreon.

A Playful Hand-Drawn Display Font
Gelato Daydreams was made to feel warm, charming, and a little nostalgic.
I love fonts that feel like they have a tiny world around them, and this one definitely does. It has that sweet, vacation-inspired feeling without being too themed or too novelty. It can lean retro, summery, playful, boutique, handmade, or soft and polished depending on how you use it.
It is the kind of display font I would use when a design needs personality right away.
Think gelato packaging, café branding, dessert menus, boutique logos, Italian summer moodboards, Pinterest graphics, social posts, product labels, postcards, invitations, and creative projects that need a little more charm.
Why I Made a Demo Font Type Drop
I love the idea of giving a small piece of a bigger font world as a Type Drop.
This one was not meant to be the full font family. It was a little demo version of Gelato Daydreams so you could test the style, play with the look, and see how it feels inside your own designs.
Sometimes you do not know if a font is right until you actually use it. You need to type with it, try it in a layout, pair it with other fonts, and see if the mood fits what you are making.
That was the point of this drop. A little piece of Gelato Daydreams to play with before deciding if the full version belongs in your font library.
What You Could Use It For
Gelato Daydreams has a soft retro feel that works especially well for designs that need to feel playful, warm, and creative.
I picture it on a gelato shop menu, a cute café logo, a summer market poster, a pastel product label, a vacation-inspired Pinterest pin, or a tiny piece of packaging that looks like it came from a charming little storefront.
It would also be sweet for birthday graphics, invitations, stationery, social posts, moodboards, and creative business graphics where you want the type to feel handmade but still intentional.
This is the kind of font that can become the main moment in a design. You do not need to overdo it. Let the font carry the personality, then pair it with something simple and clean so the whole layout has room to breathe.
A Little Piece of the Gelato Daydreams Brand World
The thing I loved most about this Type Drop was that it felt like a small preview of the whole Gelato Daydreams world.
Not just a font file. More like a tiny peek at the mood behind it.
The colors, the signage, the dessert shop feeling, the vacation postcards, the nostalgic packaging, the handwritten charm. All of that was part of the direction behind the font, and the demo drop was a way to share a little bit of that with you.
If you are someone who loves fonts, typography, handmade details, and design resources that feel like they belong to a bigger creative world, this is exactly the kind of Type Drop I love making.
