This strategy is incredibly easy if you are already creating content for your Instagram account and have a solid content plan and schedule for your Instagram account.
If you want more people viewing and engaging with your content, then follow these simple steps to get started and increase your reach!
1. Claim Your Instagram Account on Pinterest
To get started, you will need to link your Instagram account to your Pinterest business account. You can do this by going to settings and claiming your Instagram account, similar to how your claim your website in Pinterest settings.
Why can’t I claim Instagram on Pinterest? If
If you don’t see the option to claim your Instagram account in your Pinterest settings, this likely means that you are not using a business profile on Instagram. You will need to convert your personal Instagram profile to a business profile in order to link it with Pinterest.
No Instagram Claim Button on Pinterest [2023 update]
As of 2023, Pinterest no longer has the option for accounts to claim their Instagram accounts on Pinterest. This is also the case for claiming our Etsy and Youtube accounts on Pinterest.
This update happened in early 2023, and it will not affect your profile negatively since they took away the option to claim your Instagram account on all Pinterest accounts.
I reached out to Pinterest, and they assured me this should not impact your ability to cross-post from your Instagram account to your Pinterest account.
2. Share Instagram Content on Pinterest
The easiest and most important step to grow your Instagram on Pinterest and reach a larger audience is to share your Instagram content on Pinterest.
After your post new content to Instagram, share that post to your Pinterest account and choose a relevant board to pin it to.
Sharing your Instagram content on Pinterest can be done in multiple different ways. Let’s dive into some of the easiest ways to repurpose your Instagram content on Pinterest!
Repost Your Instagram Content
Simply reposting your Instagram content to Instagram is the easiest way to add your Instagram content to your Pinterest account.
You can choose to share the entire post, or just select a photo from your feed. If you want to share multiple photos from your Instagram feed, create a collage using Canva and upload it to Pinterest.

Repurpose Your Content Specifically for Pinterest
When you repurpose your content for Pinterest, it’s important to keep a few things in mind.
First, remember that people use Pinterest for different reasons than they use other social media platforms. They are typically looking for ideas, inspiration, and solutions to problems.
Your pins should reflect this by being visually appealing and offering value to the reader.
Second, make sure your pins are sized correctly and have engaging titles. As I mentioned before, the ideal size for a Pinterest pin is 1000×1500 pixels with a ratio of two-thirds.
Your title should be clear, concise, and to the point. It should also include keywords that people would use when searching for content like yours.
Third, include a call-to-action in your pin descriptions. Tell people what you want them to do after they read your blog post or see your product. For example, you could say “Click here to learn how to make the perfect pie crust†or “Check out our latest arrivalsâ€.
