Canva vs. Procreate for Drawing
When it comes to creating digital artwork, there are two main schools of thought: Procreate and Canva. Procreate is a powerful app that gives you a lot of control over your digital drawings and paintings, including a library of brushes and textures to use in your drawings.
However, it can be difficult to use if you’re not familiar with the interface. Canva, on the other hand, is used for graphic design- creating simple designs, graphics, and illustrations. However, it doesn’t have the same level of control as Procreate when it comes to drawing digitally.
Procreate is the best digital drawing app and is very intuitive for digital artists. With that being said, Procreate is not meant to be used as full-scale graphic design software. That’s where Canva comes into play. Canva is a very popular graphic design platform with many template options for its users to help bring their visions to life.
When it comes down to it, Procreate is made for digital drawing, not graphic design. And Canva was made to be a graphic design platform, not a digital drawing platform.
What is the best drawing app?
Procreate is the best digital drawing app on the market. Professional illustrators and novices alike use Procreate as the digital drawing app of choice. Procreate provides a minimalist design and smooth workflow to give you the tools needed to draw digitally without being too complicated and getting in the way of the creative process.
Can you use Procreate and Canva together?
Yes, you can use Procreate and Canva together. Since Procreate is a powerful digital drawing app you can use Procreate to bring your drawings and illustrations to life and Canva is a graphic design tool that can be used to create social media graphics, eBooks, presentations, and so much more it makes for the perfect pairing.
Procreate lacks graphic design tools, and Canva lacks drawing tools, so it is best to use the two as a pair. You can simply create your drawings and illustrations in Procreate, export them as a PNG or JPEG, and upload them to Canva to start using them in your designs.
If you want to get the most out of Procreate and Canva, I recommend using them together. Procreate is the best digital drawing app on the market and Canva is a very popular graphic design platform with many template options for its users. By using Procreate and Canva together, you’ll be able to create amazing drawings and illustrations, and then use Canva’s graphic design tools to turn them into beautiful designs.
Digital Drawing Materials Needed for Procreate and Canva
Procreate is an iOS app designed for artists to draw digitally and on the go so you are never far from your drawing supplies if inspiration strikes. Since Procreate is an iOS app, you will need an iPad to be able to download Procreate. Procreate is a one-time payment of $9.99, so it is not a large investment in the grand scheme of things.
In addition to an iPad, you need an Apple Pencil to draw in Procreate. If you plan on drawing in Procreate very often, I suggest getting a pencil grip to ensure your hand stays comfortable during long drawing sessions.
You will also need a Canva subscription to import your Procreate designs into Canva. Canva offers a free version, but I suggest upgrading your account to a Canva Pro account to gain access to all of their 100+ million premium stock photos, videos, audio, and graphics in addition to the 610,000+ premium and free templates with new designs added daily!
