I will break down each step of how to create a Pinterest business profile below. If you follow these steps, you will have your Pinterest Business account up and running in no time. Let’s get you started!
Sign up for a free Pinterest Business account.
You can do so by visiting Pinterest.com and clicking on the “Sign Up†button in the upper right corner of your screen.
A pop-up will show up with a button to create a free business account.
Fill out the form with all of your information to create your free business account on Pinterest.
Log in to your new Pinterest Business Account and start pinning!
Go to your settings and add your company name, description, and profile picture.
Once you’re logged in, click on the profile picture at the top-right corner of your screen.
Select “Edit Profile†from the dropdown menu that appears.
Please enter your company name here –> Your Business’s Name! Write a description of yourself and what you do. Make sure you add keywords to increase your profile’s SEO on Pinterest.
Create boards with relevant information to your business using Pinterest SEO optimized keywords.
Please enter the name of your first board here –> Your First Board!
Add boards to your profile with relevant information for search engine optimization, or SEO. Think about what products and services are most important to your business, along with keywords other users might be searching for on Pinterest. If you are a coaching business, create a board with topics surrounding each of the services you offer. For example, if you offer health coaching and weight loss consulting, create a board for each topic. Add your keywords to the title of each new board!
Follow other businesses in the same industry to help promote their pins.
Make sure to follow people slowly so Pinterest does not flag your account as spam due to a “spike in activity.†Due to the spam filters being extra sensitive, I suggest only following 10 people per day on new accounts. I also suggest pinning slowly so that you do not get flagged as a spam account.
Sign up for the Tailwind pin scheduling tool.
Tailwind is a Pinterest and Instagram post scheduling tool that aids in the planning of postings while also enabling you to find new material to post on Pinterest. If you haven’t already, I recommend signing up for a free trial and testing it on your Pinterest account. They even have a free forever plan! I love using Tailwind because it is the best Pinterest pin scheduling tool on the market. Tailwind was initially created strictly for the Pinterest platform which means it is capable of using all of the features of the platform like posting to different Pinterest boards and scheduling your pins to a specific board.
In addition to Tailwind scheduling your own pins, you can use Tailwind Publisher Chrome Extension to schedule repins of other people’s content right from their website. When you visit any website with the Tailwind Publisher Chrome Extension installed, you can add material from that site to your planned postings simply by going there. If you see a pin on Pinterest that you’d want to schedule, click on it and look for a button that says “Schedule” at the top of the image. You can then add the pin to your Tailwind drafts and it will be scheduled according to the settings you have in place.
Pin images and create graphics in Canva that represent your products or services.
It is so easy to end up in a scroll hole on Pinterest looking at all of the aesthetically pleasing images and graphics. I do it way too often when I need to actually be getting things done. Oops! You can create these types of graphics for your own products and services using Canva. Canva is a graphic design platform that you can use to create social media graphics, presentations, documents, and other visual content. Canva has so many templates to choose from, you will never run out!
If you’re not currently on Canva’s premium plan (Canva Pro), you can try Canva Pro for 30 days for FREE. I work in Canva daily and use it to make almost all of my graphics. I highly suggest checking it out!
Promote your content by pinning it on your different boards!
The best way to promote your content is by pinning it to your own boards. You should make multiple boards for each product or service so you can alternate pinning between different boards. This is the best strategy to get your pins in front of the largest audience possible!
There should be no more excuses for not making your business account! It takes about five minutes to sign up and then you can start posting relevant images. The best part? You don’t have to do any work yourself because I am ready and waiting to partner with you.
